important information about chai's untitled fanfic thing! FAQ at the bottom. [jump to FAQ?]

  • despite the (eventual) AO3 page, this story is a work of interactive fiction with illustrations and music! it's written & developed in twine by chai (with some help here and there).

  • this work has been tested using vivaldi, chrome, firefox, and safari mobile. and currently functions on all of them! PLEASE let me know if it doesn't (and what browser you're using in that case, so i can test it myself for you)!

  • this is meant to be read on larger screens like desktops, as opposed to mobile phones or small tablets, sorry! i'll test it on mobile as soon as i can, but i make no promises that it will look the way it's meant to. will update with any changes in that regard.
  • (update: works alright on ipad, if a bit slow. save button isn't clickable on phones but otherwise seems to work ok?)

FAQ

When does this update?

uhhhhh whenever i feel like it i guess? i don't have a schedule for this yet, just a bunch of ideas i'm still in the process of 1st or 2nd drafting, haha. when i have more of a backlog to post, i'll update this with whatever schedule i come up with.

Where can I yell at you to update faster?

my tumblr is @justsomechai, feel free to send asks or dms! you can also comment on the ao3 page (n/a) if that's any easier, since that's what it's there for!

Why not publish this as a static fic on AO3?

because twine is WAY more fun!! i've been fixated on developing this in twine for a lot of reasons: the interactive feel, being able to add movement to the words and play sounds without leaving the page, the ease of adding colors and different fonts and images without having to mess around with work skins, all the cool coding-esque stuff that's available to work with in the program itself... there's just a lot of reasons. i also don't think it'd work as a static thing anyway, so there's that.

What program/format are you using?

i'm using harlowe 3.3.7 (started with 3.3.5) in twine 2.7.1, along with the harlowe audio library v2.3.0 for adding music! i've included these links in the story itself as well.
